Jane E LeCount— Jane E. LeCount, 91, devoted mom, grandma, aunt, and friend, joined her husband, Josiah, and son, Richard, in that heavenly place in the clouds with her children close by.

Born February 5, 1927, in Falmouth, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, the third daughter, “middle button”, of Richard and Carmen (Peterson) Martin.

Following high school graduation from Huntington High, Long Island, Jane took herself to the big city, NYC, to find an occupation.  With her passion to read and write, G.P. Putnam’s found her at their door. Behold! One career began.

On trips back to Northport, Jane soon met the love of her life, Josiah A. LeCount, who she married at Trinity Church in Northport, N.Y. They were married 68 years before he passed away. With the vicissitudes of married life, Jane discovered another career – hostess waitress at a most popular restaurant, Links Log Cabin. When that was not enough for this ambitious lady, Jane discovered real estate as another passion! For over 40 years, Jane was the driving force behind LeCount Real Estate. Her dedications to the town and people of Warrensburg led to her many accomplishments including Citizen of the Year, Realtor of the Year, and involvement with the Chamber of Commerce, Warrensburg Historical Society, and the founding of World’s Largest Garage Sale. For many years, she was a member of Church of the Holy Cross.

Survivors

In addition to her parents, Jane was predeceased by her beloved husband, Josiah LeCount, who passed away May, 2017, and a son, Richard LeCount, and four siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Dorcas Conkling (Kevin) of Huntington Station, N.Y., Larry LeCount (Kim) of Warrensburg, and Elizabeth McLaughlin (Philip) of Warrensburg; 9 grandchildren;18 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her beloved cat, JC.

Calling hours take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, December 10, at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 11, at 11 a.m. at The Church of the Holy Cross in Warrensburg, with the Rev. Tom Pettigrew, pastor officiating.

A graveside service will follow at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.

The family extends a sincere thank you to everyone at Country Side Adult Home, Holy Cross Church, Glens Falls Hospital, and Warren County Public Health Nurses and Aides for all their care and compassionate support.

Robert George Gerhardt

— Robert George Gerhardt, 99, passed away at his home after a long illness Monday, October 8, 2018 with his loving wife by his side.

Born June 19, 1919, Robert was the son of John and Carolyn of Hempstead, N.Y.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Gerhardt and wife, Vera; his sister, Lucille Ruglass and husband, William; and his brother Arthur was killed in World War II.

Robert joined the United States Army Air Force in 1942, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II, and was honorably discharged October 8, 1945.

He married Joan Kinsey on November 16, 1952.

Following World War II, he worked as a landscaper as well as in carpentry. He also worked for the Hempstead Public Schools in maintenance.

Robert enjoyed wood carving, especially carvings of various birds, which he was very talented at.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 66 years, Joan Gerhardt; their daughter, Robin Linken and her husband, Dennis; son, Gary Gerhardt and his wife, Wendy. In Addition his two nephews, Wm. Ruglass and his wife, Mildred, and John Ruglass and his wife, Loretta survived him..

Joan would like to thank neighbors, Chuck and AnnaLee Novak, Beverly Milazzo, as well as Mary and Charlie Joyce for their support during Robert’s illness. Also, Joanne Owens, the homecare nurse, and her daughter, Laura, for their help.

Services

Per the family’s request, there will be no public services for Robert George Gerhardt.

Burial with military honors was held at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.

QUEENSBURY NY

Robbie G. Harris, 51, most recently of Minnesota Ave., passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 12, 2018.

Born June 7, 1966 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Thelma (Harris) Sherman.

Robbie attended Queensbury High School before earning a Bachelor’s Degree in English, as well as a Master’s Degree in Education from National University with a teaching credential.

Some of his enjoyments included writing stories and poetry. He also enjoyed fishing.

On October 16, 1987, Robbie enlisted in the United States Army National Guard, serving four years until his honorable discharge October 4, 1992. He reenlisted into the Marine Corps on March 23, 1992 and served until his honorable discharge from that branch April 22, 1996.

In addition to his mother, Robbie was predeceased by his grandfather, George A. Harris, and an uncle, George A. Harris, Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Teresa Harris; 8 children, Nakita Valentine (Christopher), Robbie W. Harris, Maggie and Gavin Ferguson, and Hayden, Hannah, Heylee, and Hunter Harris; grandmother, Eleanor J. Harris; aunts and uncles, Marjorie Dresser (Jay), Marie Williams, Virgil Harris (Sheila), and Ruth Walker (Dale); and several cousins.

There were no formal public services.

Interment with military honors will be private at the convenience of the family at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
