Sylva June Bush

Mosinee, Wisconsin – Sylva “Sibby” was born on Friday, June 11, 1937, at 9:00 p.m., to the late Alfred and Mary (Sorenson) Haasl, in Park Falls, WI. She grew up in Park Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955.

After High School she traveled to Minneapolis, MN and went to college at the College of Medical Technology where she earned an associate degree in medical and x ray technology. She continued to work in this field until her first child was born and then she became a stay-at-home mom.

On October 3, 1959, she married Clifford “Tubby” Bush at the Mosinee United Methodist Church in Mosinee. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2008. They had 48 plus years together.

Sylva loved sports and competition. She participated in golf, bowling, and pool leagues winning many trophies. She was a great Green Bay Packer fan and loved watching the Olympics. She also loved gardening, especially her tomato plants and many flowers, potted or other. She enjoyed crossword puzzles. But the most important thing to her was being with her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Of whom she always felt blessed.

Later in her life when her children were mostly grown, she went to tax school and became a professional tax preparer for H&R Block whom she worked for ten years. After that she served on the City of Mosinee Board of Revue for fifteen years.

Survivors include; one daughter, Laura (Peter) Nievinski, one son Clay (Tonya) Bush, both of Mosinee; three granddaughters, Jessica (Andrew) Berent, Bradenton, FL, Jenna (Gorman) Richardson, Chippewa Falls, WI, and Taylor Leffel, Edgar, WI; two grandsons, Cole Bush and Dustin Leffel, both of Mosinee; one great granddaughter, Abigail Berent, Bradenton, FL; one great grandson, Hudson Parker, Edgar; sister-in-law, Debbie Haasl; and one special niece who was like a daughter to her Cathryn Caruso of Davis, IL; as well as many other nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband are her sisters, Mavis Magrecke, Doria Mayer, Alice Deckelman and Marylin Jurgens and one brother John Haasl. A brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ron and Alice Bush.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at Mosinee United Methodist Church. The Rev. Banze Kyabuntu Wa Kiluba will officiate.

Burial will take place at Mosinee Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service all at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be directed to the family at www.bestefh.com.
