Frederick, MD – Robert Scott Graham was born 6/3/1950, in Decatur IL, to the parents of Donald Graham and Mary Lee Graham. Scott was the eldest son, followed by Kevin Graham, and youngest sister Erin Graham.
Robert, known by most as Scott, was born and raised in Decatur, living in the home that his father helped build. He attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He later went on to receive his masters in Psychology at the University of Illinois Springfield, and his MBA at the University of Baltimore.
Scott was a pioneer in providing services that allowed people who have mental illness to thrive outside of state mental institutions. His passion to help others led him to establish ReVisions Behavioral Health Systems in 1983 in an effort to promote mental health rehabilitation in his local community.
Scott was the President and CEO of the non-profit organization for nearly 20 years, and in that time he grew the company revenue from 0 to 7 million dollars a year. He created a multifaceted multi-dimensional rehabilitation and treatment organization. He also founded what came to be called the Maryland Association of Psychiatric Support Services and was its president. In 2000 he began his 19 year journey as a surveyor for CARF, traveling around the country to offer council to other mental health rehabilitation organizations.
Scott’s other passion was acting, and his heart was full when he was entertaining local theater-goers on stage with the Salem Players at Salem Lutheran Church. While at home, Scott loved listening to music, rooting for the Ravens, and cooking on the grill.
Scott died peacefully in his home on 11/8/2022. He is survived by his sister, Erin Lee Graham of Ocala, FL. Children; Ryan Graham of Baltimore, MD, Megan Graham of Sacramento, CA, Heather Graham of Baltimore, MD, and Brendan Graham of Baltimore, MD. Two grandchildren; Ryder and Emerson Graham of Sacramento, CA.
The memorial service for Scott will be held on December 17, 2022 at 11am at Salem Lutheran Church, 905 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228.
