Richard David Browe

Wells, VT – Richard David Browe, age 75, passed away at Rutland Regional Medical Center on January 25, 2019 following a long illness. He had fought cancer since 2002 having been a survivor twice during that time. Through all of this he kept his sense of humor.

Richard was born on May 12, 1943 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts the son of the late Howard and Hilda (Hall) Browe.

Richard grew up in Shaftsbury, VT and graduated from North Bennington High School. He took enhancement classes in Accounting and Cattle Breeding at Cornell College in New York.

He started his farming career working with his father. For 17 years he held the position of Vermont State Director for New England Polled Hereford Association, he was Beef farm manager at Maynard Brook Farm and Rolling Meadow Farms in Pawlet. He trucked cattle both locally and cross country. He was a member of the Vermont Maple Producers, a 4-H Dairy Leader and Dairy quiz bowl.

He was a loving husband and father. Above all things, he loved his family. Richard always looked forward to family gatherings, camping, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, hunting with his beagle dogs and hunting trips in Maine with his parents and brothers.

Richard David Browe was predeceased by his parents, a grandson Kenny Ynesta, siblings Dorothy, Howard and Harry. Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Margaret (Buckbee) Browe, and his two children Raechel Ynesta (Ken) of Wells, VT and Richard P. Browe (Stephanie) of Pawlet, VT. He was blessed with 3 grandchildren: Sierra Ynesta, Seth and Adam Browe. In addition, he is survived by brothers Tom and Dennis.

A funeral service for Richard David Browe was held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 3 PM at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville with the Rev. Tom Atkins presiding; Rev. Glen Woods did homily; and his Wanda honored the family with a special song. Friends called from 1pm until the time of the service.
