Selma, Alabama – Oscar Smith Jr passed away on January 8, 2023 at the age of 70. He was born August 24th, 1952 to the late Oscar and Lillian Smith.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Brink Smith; daughter, Bobbie Gail Smith; sisters, Violet Smith Campbell, Ruth Smith Simons, and Francis Smith Martin; brothers, Carl Smith and Coy Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Smith; children, April Smith (Jeremy) Ross and Stephen Smith; grandchildren, Donnie Lee Ross, Codey Carlyle Ross, and Remington Smith Ross; brothers, Rolin (Faye) Smith and Rubyn Smith; sisters, Ann Pardue and Gail Ewing; lifelong friend and brother-in-law, Ronnie (Carol) Gill; and brother-in-law, Ernie Brink.
Graveside services will be 1:00 pm. Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Plantersville Christian Cemetery with Rev. Rod Rochester officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.
Active Pallbearers will be Ronald Gill, Stone Gill, Coleman Gill, Aiden King, Josh Schoultz, and Willie Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rolin Smith, Rubyn Smith, Ronnie Gill, and Moe Bishop.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Jack Burns, Shane Vinson, NP and the home health nurses who assisted in caring for him.
