Burlington, VT – Moe A Metivier, 77, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, at the UVM Medical Center with his family by his side on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019. Special thanks to the amazing team at the UVM MICU.
He was born in Burlington on Jan. 21, 1942, the son of Andrew Alexander and Madeline Grace (Auclaire) Metivier. Moe graduated from Rice Memorial High School and later married the former Nancy J. Bissonnette at the Cathedral of the Immaculaate Conception on May 30, 1970. For thirty years, Moe was a fire extinguisher technician and will be remembered as a school crossing guard for nine years at Edmunds School. In Addition, He was an avid bowler and camper.
Moe A Metivier is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy J. Metivier; his children and their spouses: Lori and Justin Meigs, Jason and Lori Metivier; his grandchildren: Tyler, Andrew, Brayden, Carolynn and Natalie; his three sisters: Shirley Ward, Sally Desautels and Elaine Cross; his three brothers: Edward, Mike and David Metivier as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by seven siblings.
A Celebration of Life will be held later in the spring. Those wishing may send a memorial contribution to the VT Heart Association
