Minnie was born in Ideal, Georgia, to the late James Lesley and Clarence Drew Chambley. She was one of nine children. She married the love of her life, Clyde Denver “Sport” Pickard in 1951, and their two children, Donnie Denver Pickard and Sheila Pickard Scott, were honored with the privilege of calling her “Momma.” Minnie was an independent and strong-willed woman who was totally devoted to her family and her steadfast faith in God. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Thomasville, Georgia, for over 30 years where she attended regularly. She was a loyal friend, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Nanny adored her family and cherished her time being fully involved in raising her three grandsons. Monitoring and witnessing her firm belief in God instilled in them a foundation that they carry with them today. She was a friend to every one who was fortunate enough to cross her path and will be dearly missed.

Minnie was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of thirty-four years, Clyde Denver “Sport” Pickard; five brothers; and three sisters.

Left to cherish the memories they made with Minnie are her caring and attentive children, her son, Donnie Denver Pickard of Macon, and her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila P. and Cochran A. Scott of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; her grandchildren, Cochran A. “Trey” Scott, III (Elizabeth) and Patrick Denver Scott (Lauren), both of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; and Charles Austin Scott (Meredith) of Thomasville, GA; her great-grandchildren, Cochran A. “Cade” Scott, IV, Lillian Lane “Lilly” Scott, Mary Virginia Scott, Lana Adriana Scott, Denver Dooley Scott, and Mitchell Austin Scott; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
