Apache Junction, AZ – Kathryn Jean Preuss, affectionately known as Kathy to her friends and family, passed away peacefully of natural causes on October 29, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on November 27, 1947, in Phoenix, AZ, she was a lifelong resident of the city she loved.
The daughter of William “Herb” Fielder and Marjory Adele Fielder, Kathy grew up in a nurturing environment alongside her brothers, William “Bill” and Michael “Mike” Fielder. She was a proud graduate of Camelback High School and went on to further her education at Phoenix College, where she honed the skills that would serve her well throughout her life.
Kathy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Troost, with whom she shared many cherished years. Her legacy continues through her two devoted sons, David and Daniel Preuss, and her adoring grandchildren, Jared, Erik, Brendan, Noah, Taylor, Danielle, and Joshua. Her role as a mother and Oma (Popa), was the one she cherished most, pouring her deep love and wisdom into her family’s lives, leaving a mark that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Kathy’s passion for baking sweets was known far and wide. She delighted in the joy her baked goods brought to others, whether it was a batch of cookies for a school event or a special dessert for family celebrations. Her recipes were crafted with love, and her family treasured receiving these treats on every occasion.
Throughout her life, Kathy was a beacon of kindness and generosity, touching the lives of many with her warm spirit and gracious heart.
