Joan Sacksner

Montreal, Canada – It is with sadness that we announce Joan’s peaceful passing on Monday, November 21, 2022, in her eighty-fourth year. Beloved wife of the late David Sacksner. Daughter of the late Esther and the late Joseph Eisenstadt. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Shelly and Aaron Eisenstein, Jeffrey and Lynn Sacksner, Martin and Joelle Sacksner. Adored Nana of Shuli and Yishai Sacks, Penina and Shmuli Cohen, Deena and Reuven Ben Ze’ev, Aryeh and Tamar Eisenstein, Yaakov and Zloty Eisenstein, and Sarah Eisenstein, Jake, Jordan, Justin and Max Sacksner and Jakob, Rachel and Sophie Sacksner.

Cherished “Great-Nana” of nineteen great-grandchildren, Kein Yirbu. Dear sister of Harvey Eisenstadt, the late Barry Eisenstadt, and the late Fern Eisenstadt. Beloved sister-in-law of Rocky Silverman.

Joan will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews and her entire family. She will be remembered as a unique woman full of positivity and always with a smile.

A special thank you to her niece Dr. Marcia Epstein for her outstanding care, compassion, and guidance over the past years. Sincere gratitude to the caring 15th floor staff at the Montreal General Hospital for their excellent care.
