Ivana Trump

Ivana Trump was born in Zlin, Czechoslovakia, where she was a competitive skier as a member of the Czech junior national ski team. Briefly married to an Austrian ski instructor, she moved to Canada, where she worked as a ski instructor and a model. She modeled for Eaton’s Department Store and did promotional work for the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. She met Donald Trump while modeling at an event in New York City, and the pair married in 1977.

The Trumps became a New York City power couple and were a favorite of the tabloid newspapers. Ivana worked closely with Donald Trump to expand his real estate business. She was an integral figure in the development of Trump Tower in New York City and Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City.

The couple had three children during their marriage, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric Trump. Donald and Ivana had a very public divorce which eventually ended with a confidential settlement in 1992.

Following her marriage, Ivana developed a line of clothing, beauty products, and jewelry which were sold on the Home Shopping Network.

She married and divorced twice and wrote several books including a self-help book titled “The Best Is Yet to Come: Coping with Divorce and Enjoying Life Again” and an autobiography in 2017 titled “Raising Trump.”
