Old Bennington, VT – Charlotte Porter (Bayliss) Edson, passed away on Monday February 20, 2023. she was born on May 8, 1936, in Melrose, Massachusetts.
She is survived by her daughter, Page Porter Ehrhardt, and grandson, Ashton Porter Ehrhardt.
Charlotte’s beloved husband of 46 years, Charles Thomas Edson passed away, just days before Charlotte on February 16, 2023.
She graduated from her local high school, and received a bachelor’s degree in English.
As a resident of Old Bennington, Vermont, She was Christian and an active member of the Hoosick Falls Community Alliance Church. She worked for the New Jersey Department of Transportation many years, becoming the Head of Personnel. After ending her career with the DOT, she was able to pursue her greatest passion; National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. As a member, she participated in many committees at the national and New Jersey state level. Her greatest honor was to serve as the National Librarian General.
The graveside services for Charlotte and Her husband Charles will be at 11am on Friday February 24th, 2023 at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington, Vermont.
