The first baby born at Glens Falls Hospital in 1956, she was the daughter of James Counters and the late Joan M. (Robillard) Counters.
C.C. was a graduate of Glens Falls High School. She worked for over 35 years at the Glens Falls Hospital as a purchaser in nutrition services. C.C. was also a member of Fort Edward Fire House.
She especially loved time with her grandson, Jace Henry, going to casinos, the beach and ocean, rollercoasters, catering and spending time with family and friends.
C.C. was predeceased by her mother, Joan Counters, her great-grandmother, Celia E. Robillard, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kelly Jean Chadwick and grandson, Jace Henry Chadwick of Glens Falls; her father, James H. Counters Sr. (Claire Parker) of Hudson Falls; her sister, Cindy J. LaPointe of Glens Falls; brother, Jay (Lori) Counters Jr. of Wisconsin; her uncle and aunt, Paul and Pat Counters of Schuylerville; nieces and nephews, Kristi and Brian Mayle, Mike and Lisa LaPointe, and James Counters; great-nieces, Alyssa and Samantha LaPointe and great-nephew, Brax Mayle; son-in-law, Guy Chadwick of Glens Falls; and several cousins and friends.
There will be a gathering on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Fort Edward Fire Department, 116 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to her cousins, Danielle Gilligan and Lori Robillard. In addition, a special thank you goes to her “adopted” daughter, Tanya Dubois, and the C.R. Wood Cancer Center.
In loving memory of C.C., donations can be made to the C.R. Wood Cancer Center, 102 Park St., Glens Falls, NY 12801.
C.C. was a beautiful, kind, loving woman. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Her daughter Kelly was the light in her eyes and the love in her heart. When Celia Merrithew became a grandmother to Jace Henry, her eyes twinkled even brighter. C.C. beamed with pride over her daughter and grandson. She was truly a guardian angel on earth and we were lucky to have her. The sky gained another star and Heaven gained a beautiful soul.
