Detroit, Mi – George Mallory Duncan Jr., 44, of Detroit, passed away on April 11, 2020. He was born June 19, 1975 as the son of George Mallory Duncan and Karen Floyd Duncan.
Education
George enjoyed math, playing chess, basketball and French and had the opportunity to travel to Paris, France with his classmates at Taylor Center High. He graduated from Benedictine High School in 1993. After graduation, George went to the University of Michigan on an Engineering Scholarship.
Family and more
In 1998 George began his family when he was blessed with a daughter. He named her Iva Inez Duncan after his grandmother, who he loved so much and had passed away a year before Iva was born. George’s family grew in the subsequent years to five children. He was very proud of his children and enjoyed family activities. George enjoyed reading, writing, rapping, as well as making beats. He was always optimistic about the future and never stopped dreaming.
Personality
George Mallory Duncan Jr. was known for his warmth and signature smile. His engaging personality led him to a career in sales and customer service most notably as one of the top sales consultants at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, where he was promoted and served as Assistant Sales Manager. George was an excellent swimmer and trained at Northwest Activity from the age of four and was a LifeGuard in high school.
Survivors
George is survived by three daughters (Iva, Yvonne, and Ava) and two sons, (JaRion and Shaddai). parents George Sr, and Karen Hodge; his siblings Tesenga Sha, Bianca, Falon, Walker (Ricky), Gerron and Christopher, several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many friends. He was predeceased by his Grandparents George and Iva Duncan, Thomas Edward and Betty Jean Floyd; His Aunts Cathlynn Duncan and Ernistine Floyd; in addition to his Stepfather Walker Hodge.
On the morning of April 11th, 2020 George made his transition.
