Donald Ray Turner

Colorado Springs – Don Turner, 75, of Peyton, Colorado, passed away November 10, 2022.

Don was born in Colorado Springs on March 28, 1947. He was married to Nancy on March 18, 1978. 

Don served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman from 1964-1968 during Vietnam Conflict on the USS Coral Sea, spending time in Vietnam as well as the Philippines and Japan. 

Following his service, he went back to school and became a Medical Technologist, specializing in Microbiology.  He worked for the Department of Defense for over 25 years.

He obtained his pilot’s license and spent several years volunteering with the Civil Air Patrol.  Don loved the mountains and being outdoors, and spending time with his family and four-legged friends.

Don is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, his sons Shawn (Erin) and Robert (Lisa), and grandchildren Jaxon, Tessa, Kasey, Callen, Reagan and Kinsey.

A memorial service will be held at Cappadona Funeral Home on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 1:00pm.  A private internment will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Parkinson’s Foundation at parkinson.org would be greatly appreciated.
