Jay attended Whitewater High School from 1980-1984 and the University of Wisconsin Whitewater from 1984-1991.

He married twice, Sherry Tuinstra (divorced) from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and to Rita Webster, Tuinstra (divorced) from Madison, Wisconsin.

While Jay lived most of his life in Whitewater, the last sixteen years of his life were spent in Madison and was most recently employed as a driver for the Madison Bus Company.

He cherished his children and most loved spending time with them.

Jay is survived by his Mother – Audrey, Brother – John Sisters – Merrilee and Melody, and Children – Elliott (age 14), Aiden and Abby both 13. He was predeceased by his father John.
