New Orleans, LA – Roy Raymond Alberts passed away peacefully on December 2, 2022 at the age of 89.  He was born on May 5, 1933 to Percy Francis Alberts and Irene Rodriquez Alberts, and was raised by his very loving Aunt Florence “Cully” Alberts. 

He often said the happiest day of his life was the day he married his beloved Myrtle Marie Keppler; they were married for over 62 years at the time of her passing in 2019.  In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by all of his siblings:   Louis Alberts, Elwood Alberts, Joyce Fanelli, Alfred “Toby” Alberts, Harry Alberts, Harold “Mookie” Alberts, and Elizabeth “Betty” Marchioni.  He is survived by his five children and their spouses:  Rebecca “Becky” (Mike) Quinn, Lisa (Noel) Darce, Lloyd (Laura) Alberts, John (Caroline) Alberts, and Kathleen (John) Kazour; his ten grandchildren:  Caitlin Quinn, Nathan (Elisabeth) Darce, Dr. Matthew Darce, Melissa Darce, Brandon Darce, Joseph Alberts, Amelia Alberts, Nicole Kazour, Charles Kazour and Christopher Kazour; and one great-grandchild Jack Keppler Darce. 

Roy was a proud graduate of St. Aloysius High School, Louisiana State University with a Bachelors of Science degree, and Loyola University with a Masters of Business Administration. He was awarded the outstanding Catholic award by the Newman Club of LSU in 1955.  Roy was a devout Catholic and served on several Archdiocesan boards including the Advisory Board to Archbishop Hannan and the Human Relations Committee. 

He was a teacher and principal in the CCD programs at St. Robert Bellarmine and St. Matthias parishes for a combination of 25 years.  He was a member of the Serra Club of Downtown New Orleans where he served as President and Governor and served on the International Board.  Roy was a Man of Manresa for 60 plus years.  He was a long-time volunteer for the Archbishop’s Community Appeal for the Catholic Charities of New Orleans and was honored to be a recipient of the Order of St. Louis Medal for outstanding Catholic service.  In his professional career, Roy was a Vice President of Sales at Orleans Materials and Equipment Co. for 40 years.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Touro for their compassionate care during Roy’s recent illness. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 12:00 PM with visitation from 10:00 AM until Mass time at The National Votive Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, 2701 State Street, New Orleans, LA.  Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery #2, Canal Street, New Orleans, LA.

New Orleans – Marie Louise Lopez Wagner, a native of New Orleans, was born December 16, 1943 and passed on December 7, 2022 at the age of 78.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents Armand Lopez, Jr and Audrey Turner Lopez, her former husband Allen Wagner, Sr., her daughter Sherry Wagner Manning and her longtime companion Rick Moore.

She is survived by her son Allen Wagner, Jr. (Elizabeth); her grandchildren, Allen Wagner, III, and Chantel Wagner; her sisters, Alice Lopez Ponseti (Thomas), Sylvia Lopez Chamosa (Manuel), Carol Lopez Short, and Anita Lopez Krail (Kevin).

Marie has a long distinguished career as a travel agent and retail sales manager and was an active member in American Society of Travel Agents (ASTOR), the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) and the Cancer Crusaders. When she was not passionately working and traveling, she loved to be with family and friends, was an excellent dancer, weight trainer and coach for young girls sports. She was especially proud of her work with Cancer Crusaders.

Family will receive friends on Monday December 12, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, December 13 at 11 a.m. followed by celebration of Catholic Mass at 12:00 p.m. in the J. Garic Chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son. Interment will be held at a later date.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association.

New Orleans – Pamela Jean Corcoran Creath lovingly known as “Mia”, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday November 17, 2022 at the age of 86.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward James Corcoran and Angelina Diliberto Corcoran. Her loving husband George Hillard Creath Jr. and son George Hillard Creath III, and Her siblings Joyce Corcoran Fontenelle (Scuddy) and Michael Francis Corcoran (Nancy).

She is survived by her children Kimberly Creath Sorensen (Mike) and Tony Michael Creath (Annette). Her grandchildren Megan Scandurro (Frankie), Kortney Bassemier (Michael), Garrett Creath (Bailey), Mikella Campbell (Dustin), Kelsey Bilich (Dominick), and Abbee Creath; and great-grand children Delanie, Decker, Emma, and Lincoln. Also survived by her brother Edward John Corcoran (Linda), and many family and friends.

She was a real estate agent with Esquire Realty for 35+ years and up until the time of her death. She was known for her faith, cooking, pralines, and love for her family. She was a strong supporter and active member of the N.O. Aids Taskforce. She treated all those around her as if they were family.

She will be loved and greatly missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at St. Benilde Church, 1901 Division St., Metairie LA 70001, on November 22, 2022. New Orleans – Donald Anthony Sauviac Jr, known as “Donny” or “Don” by his family and friends and “Dondee” by his grandchildren, passed away unexpectedly on November 16, 2022 in Covington, LA.

Donald was born on February 17, 1963 in New Orleans, LA. He is a graduate of Brother Martin High School where he was an active member of the ROTC. During this time, he worked in the family grocery and hardware stores, continuing through college. He obtained a business administration degree and certificate of paralegal studies from the University of New Orleans. He worked as a corporate paralegal in a large firm and then went on to receive his juris doctorate degree from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge LA. While in law school he served as Editor in Chief of the law school newspaper and graduated with cum laude honors.

After admittance to the Louisiana State Bar In 1991 he worked as a prosecuting attorney for the United States Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service in Oakdale LA. He returned to New Orleans to open his law practice 1-800-NOT-GUILTY. He became known for his commercials wearing his signature yellow suit. He was also a federal CJA panel attorney for the United States District Court and the Orleans Indigent Defender Program.

Donny and Glynda, the love of his life and favorite travel partner, moved to Mandan, North Dakota in 2014 where he opened the White Buffalo Legal Clinic. White Buffalo was the name he was given by the numerous Native Americans he assisted while in North Dakota. He was appointed Chief Public Defender for the counties of Williams, McKenzie, and Divide in the Northwestern District of North Dakota.

Donny and Glynda returned to St. Tammany Parish in 2020 after the untimely death of his younger brother Craig. Donny was a larger than life one of a kind guy who truly lived life to the fullest every day. He was very involved in the Knights of Columbus and was the 2015 North Dakota Knight of the Year. He was also the Supreme Advocate for the International Order of Alhambra, a Catholic organization serving persons with developmental disabilities. Donny also loved being a part of the Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Club and the Downtown Irish. He was a true servant always ready to volunteer, tirelessly, giving his time and energy any chance that he could.

He adored his daughters and his grandchildren and beamed with pride at the very mention of their names. He loved hosting large parties for family and friends. Donny was a huge Saints fan. He loved fishing and hunting any chance that he could. Two of his passions were the Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo and ice fishing in North Dakota. Donny was a devout Catholic and had a close personal relationship with his Lord and Savior. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

Donny was preceded in death by his parents, Delores Segler Sauviac and Donald Anthony Sauviac Sr; his beloved brother Craig Andre Sauviac; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Troyo-Haynie; his maternal grandparents Lucille and Earl Segler; and his paternal grandparents Catherine and Henry Sauviac Sr.

Donny is survived by his loving wife Glynda Troyo Sauviac; his daughters, Megan Sauviac Lamber (Matthew), Meredith Sauviac Fox (Brendan), Catherine Sauviac Hoffman (Cory) and Molly Marie Sauviac as well as his stepson Paul-Michael LaBruzza (Rebecca); his grandchildren, Brady Anthony Hoffman, Briggs Reid Hoffman, Rhett Andre Hoffman, and Quinn Rose Lambert; his devoted sister, Kimberly Sauviac Adams; his sister in law Denise Mayeaux Sauviac; and nephews Jeremy Loyacano, Bradley Adams Jr, Sayer Sauviac and Kristophe Sauviac

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 22, 2022, beginning at 9:15am at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans LA 70119. Mass will begin at 12:15pm.
