Manchester, VT – Pierette Panzari Evans, 90, formerly of The Meadows in Manchester, passed away March 8, 2020 at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Pierette was born in London, England on January 25, 1930 the daughter of the late Pietro and Maria Aguda Panziari and attended London schools with some time spent in school in Italy .

In her younger years, Pierette worked as a waitress in her parents restaurant in London. She provided catering for many years and upon moving to Vermont owned and operated the Snow Bound Motel and finished her working career as the seamstress at the Equinox.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Christ Our Savior Parish Roman Catholic Church in Manchester where she was formerly active in the Catholic Daughters. She was a member of BPW, was a Cub Scout Den Leader, and enjoyed making quilts for the Rescue Squad, Hospitals and Nursing Homes.

She lived in Italy during WWII where she enjoyed taking care of children. Pierette is survived by her children Linda Sargent (Tom Ouellette) of Manchester, Janet Benson (John) of Manchester and Steve Evans (Trish) also of Manchester, grandchildren Michelle Dansby (Jason),John Sargent (Sadie), Ed Morrison, Mike Jefferson, Deidre Evans and Tyler Benson, 11 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony John Evans whom she married March 22, 1952 in London, England and her son Christopher John Evans.

A mass of Christian death and burial will be celebrated Friday March 13,2020 at 12:30pm at St Paul’s Christ Our Savior Parish in Manchester.

Interment will follow in Factory Point Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held from 10am-Noon two hours prior to the mass Friday March 13, 2020 at Brewster-Shea Funeral Home 34 Park Place Manchester Center, Vermont. If friends desire, memorial gifts may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, c/o Brewster-Shea Funeral Home P.O. Box 885 Manchester Center, VT 05255.

London, England – Orval Allen Passed away peacefully, at Chartwell Long Term Home in Parkhill.

Orval leaves behind his loving wife Norma of 63 years, their children and spouses Roger and Rose Allen and Kathy and Kirby Taylor. Pops is also survived by his cherished grandchildren and spouses Jason and Heather Taylor, Jonathan and Jennifer (Taylor) Smith, Christopher and Delaney (Allen) Hoage, Nathan Allen and Jesse Todorski son of Rose as well as 7 precious great-grandchildren; Oliver and Casey Taylor, Brayden, Harper and Kayden Smith, Audrey Hoage and Emeryk Todorski.

Orval was raised on a farm near Horning’s Mills, Ontario and left central District High School, Shelbourne at the age of 17 to join the Royal Bank and proudly worked for 38 years. His career from junior clerk to the last appointment as Vice President, Credit Risk Management, Alberta and Northwest Territories was a transient lifestyle that included postings in ten places in Ontario (Shelbourne, Bracebridge, Strathroy, Smithville, Niagara Falls, Hamilton (twice), Kleinberg, Sault Ste Marie, London, Toronto (twice). Also, Montreal (twice) and Calgary where he retired.

He and Norma later returned to her hometown Strathroy to be closer to and enjoy their families and relatives and start new friendships.

Sports were an important and enjoyable part of his life. He played hockey, baseball, high school football, fastball, golf and curling. Orval loved to sing and dance. He and Norma were usually one of the first and last couples on the dance floor and they danced many miles in their years together. His love for music was also displayed through his joy in singing barbershop harmony style music with the Strathroy Vocal Federation Chorus for 25 years. Most of all, he treasured immediate and extended family gatherings.

Orval will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by many extended family members and friends.

Orval was predeceased by his parents Leaman and Leolah (Cantlon) Allen, three older siblings and their spouses; Hazen and Beth (Marshall) Allen and Kenneth and Marion (Sharpen) Allen and Joan (McCulloch) Allen and Betty and Charles McCutcheon.

In Keeping with Orval’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a private family service. Interment to follow at Strathroy Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, December 13, from 4-7 p.m. at Denning’s of Strathroy.
