North Las Vegas, Nevada – Joseph Maxwell Tucker III, of North Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away December 13, 2022 of complications related to lung cancer. He was 77 years old.

Joseph Maxwell Tucker

Joe attended Central Methodist College in Fayette, Missouri, where he met his first wife, Barbara Briggs. The two were married in 1966 and divorced in 1994. Joe met his second wife, Catherine, through his work at Caterpillar Inc. They married in 1996.

Joe was an engineer and a mathematician by trade, working for Caterpillar for nearly four decades, and moonlighting as a math instructor at Waubonsee Community College for many years. His work at Caterpillar took him on two international assignments, first to Winnipeg, Manitoba, and then Harsewinkel, Germany. He also held a couple of patents through Caterpillar. He was a car and airplane enthusiast, a lover of all things clever and mechanical, an accomplished photographer, a classical music aficionado, and an avid reader and student of history right up to the end.

He is survived by his two sons, Mark and Zachary, his wife Catherine, stepson Aaron Rogers, his sister Judy Horsch, stepdaughters Barbara Oros and Carrie Jackson, and grandchildren Lauren Bennett and Nolan Oros. Joe wished for his earthly remains to be donated to scientific research, and as such, there will be no funeral. The family plans a memorial service to be announced later. In the meantime, those wishing to pay their respects are encouraged to donate to their favorite charity in Joe’s memory.

Poughkeepsie, NY – Arno A Frank, passed in the company of his loving family on November 9, 2022, after living a long and happy life.  Arno’s greatest legacy will always be the beautiful family he nurtured with the love of his life, Marie.

Born in Weseritz, Sudetenland, Germany on October 23, 1938, he was the son of the late Anton Frank and Anna (Muhlfried) Frank.  Arno was forced to mature quickly when his family was expelled from the city after WWII, and they lost their 150-year-old family-owned business and farm.  In 1953, at age 14, the family was able through a sponsor to emigrate to Millbrook, NY.

After graduation from Webutuck High School, he started a successful career in the printing industry and worked as an Offset Pressman, Arno was known as a legendary “color man” before the introduction of spectrometers.  His devotion to craftsmanship continued throughout his career including the time he spent in the United States Army from November 15, 1961, where he specialized as an Offset Pressman printing map, until his honorable discharge on October 31, 1967.  Decorations and medals include the Good Conduct Medal, Expert (Carbine), and Marksman (Rifle).

Arno married the love of his life Marie D. Kistner at Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie on October 1, 1966.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years Marie; his four children; daughter Heidi Bauer (Thomas), son Kevin Frank, daughter Christine Paquette (Robert), and daughter Karen Stortini (Ryan); grandchildren Scott and Steven Bauer, Robert Paquette, Joseph, Marissa and Juliana Stortini; sisters Ingeborg Najarian (John deceased) of MA and Herma Vogt (Werner deceased) of Germany, brother-in-law Bernie Kistner (CarlaLisa) several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; predeceased by his parents and brother Siegfried Frank (Nancy) of MA.

Much of Arno’s life revolved around family and friends.  Arno was an avid outdoorsman whether it was deer hunting with his son Kevin and friends, annual apple picking with family, swimming with his grandchildren or splitting wood.  Watching TV westerns and sports, especially rooting for his beloved Yankees, was a favorite pastime.

Arno was an uber grandpa – he adored each of his grandchildren and watched over them with a loving heart and an eagle eye.  He was steel on the outside, but marshmallow underneath. His booming pronouncements were always interspersed with warm hugs!  Arno and Marie created a home that welcomed and cared for not only their own children, but many others entranced by the warmth and caring selflessly offered.

Visitation was Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 4pm to 7pm at the Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, Inc. 39 So. Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. (845)452-1840.  A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10am Friday November 18, 2022, at Holy Trinity Church 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
