Nashville, TN – Richard Alan Davidson, 66, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023. Born September 14, 1956, in Harriman, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Ray Davidson and Gwen Dunaway.

Richard was a graduate of the 1974 class at Goodlettsville High School. He had been an engineer with Metro Public Works for 30 years. He was a longstanding member of Dale Church of the Nazarene where he served as music director. Richard also belong to the local Masonic Lodge 254. Mr. Davidson loved sports. “Pop” enjoyed playing golf and softball, and often found a way to get involved with his grandchildren’s sports teams whether it was coaching or scorekeeping. He was also an avid fan of the University of Tennessee Volunteers and Major League Baseball’s Atlanta Braves.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Patti Joyce Davidson.
He is survived by his daughters Carol (Terry) Morris and Mandy (Sanders) Gammons; a nephew that he and his late wife raised, Patrick (Dawn) Hunt; sisters Debbie McAlister and Karen Sherrill; brother Gary (Joni) Davidson; brother-in-law Wade Hunt; sisters-in-law Carla Hunt and Janet Jones; grandchildren Tyler Morris, Colin (Ashley) Morris, Hannah Gammons, Ava Gammons, Tenley Morris and Renner Gammons; great grandchildren Aubree, Chevy and C.J.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was held at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Friday, January 13th from 12 pm until 8 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville. Visitation will continue Saturday morning at 10 am until 2 pm. A Celebration of Life Service officiated by Bro. Bart Anderson will take place on Saturday at 2 pm.

Las Cruses, NM – Eloy B Martinez, 86, passed on 12/4/22 at Mountain View Hospital. Eloy was born in
La Angostura NM on July 18, 1936 to Alejandro and Lydia Martinez.

He has two sisters, Monica Torres and Mercedes Delgado.

He married Jennie Costales on July 16, 1955.

He attended the University of New Mexico school of Engineering. Eloy had a long career at White Sands Missile Range where he retired as the Chief of Housing. Eloy was an avid golfer in his younger years. He loved UNM football and basketball and a passionate Dallas Cowboys fan. He was always up for a dance and to listen to music. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and was an active member of St. Genevieve Catholic Church.
Eloy is survived by four children: Laura Whipple (husband Rich), resident of Hawaii; Vikki Martinez, resident of Las Cruces; John Martinez (wife Lea Ann), resident of Rio Rancho, and Eloy Martinez Jr., resident of Las Vegas, NM, and his siblings Monica Torres and Mercedes Delgado. He has too many to count, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his wife Jennie, his son Alex Martinez, daughter Virginia Morales, and granddaughters Gianna Martinez and Megan Whipple.
Services will be as follows: Viewing and Rosary: Friday, December 16, 2022 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel. Viewing 5pm to 6pm, Rosary from 6pm to 7pm followed by sharing of memories or stories by anyone who wishes to share.
Funeral: Saturday December 17, 2022 at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina St. at 10am. Burial: Masonic Cemetery, 760 Compress at 11am. Followed by a reception at Frank O’Brien Papen community center, 304 W. Bell at Noon.
