Joni was a beloved wife, mother, Mema, sister and best friend. Joni was also a warrior. She gave cancer quite the fight. When Joni wasn’t battling cancer, she enjoyed spending time with her family. However, Joni enjoyed spending her days as a Mema.

Joni was employed by Dr. Jeffrey Gretz for ten years and later was employed as a Clinical Coordinator and Surgical Scheduler at CVPH Medical Center. She was also an EMS Captain for the Cadyville Fire Department for six years.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 28 years Travis Spellman, her two children; Dylan Spellman and Kirstan (Matt) Dresser, her mother Linda Latour, her sister; Deborah Hancock and a brother Jimmy Latour her three granddaughters; Sophia Latour, Brylee and Paislee Dresser, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father Wilford “Jack” Latour, her brother Jackie Latour and a faithful boxer Tyson.

Joni’s Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 2-4pm at 24 Hammond Street Dannemora, NY 12929. Memorial donations may be made to her family.
