A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022 at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Joe Shannon will officiate.

Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.

Rex Ruddle, Jeremy Muzzall and Rob Underwood will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.

She was born June 28, 1928, in Paris to Fayne Harrison Edgar and Pearl Trotter Edgar, both of whom preceded her in death.

She married Furman W. Muzzall on Oct. 10, 1945. He died on Feb. 26,1987.

Dorothy was a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church. She liked fishing, squirrel hunting and playing dominoes.

She is survived by a son, Furman (Linda) Muzzall Jr. of Clarksville; two daughters: Gloria Arndt of Paris and Susie Muzzall of Jackson;

Four grandchildren: Rachel (Rex) Ruddle, Angela Ball, Thomas Muzzall and Jeremy (Paula) Muzzall; 10 great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is also survived by her special friend and caregiver, Charlene Pollack.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Dale Edgar; and a sister, Lucille Burton.

Danville, GA – Joyce Cleghorn Nelson, 72, of Railroad St. passed away Saturday in Wrightsville, GA.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2:00PM in Arp Baptist Church Cemetery in Irwin County, GA.

Ms. Nelson was born in Macon, GA the daughter of Leon Cleghorn and Lorraine Cameron Price. Joyce was preceded in death by her brother Jesse M. Day, and by her former husband Kevin Nelson. She was retired from Robins Air Force Base.

Survivors include her son Christopher (Amy) Nelson and her daughter Karen (Gary) Warner. Her Brother Douglas (Shirley) Day, Sr. and Three Grandchildren.

Bennington, VT – Florence Louise Smith passed away peacefully at River’s Edge Community Care Home on Friday November 25, 2022, two days after her 105^th birthday. She was born November 23, 1917 the youngest daughter of Lorenzo and Fannie Moore. She married William F.D. Smith on December 14, 1940 and had 3 daughters, Wilhelmina Smith, Ann Smith and Catherine Bergquist.

She graduated from Bennington High School and the Baptist Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church. Her interests included gardening, sewing, bridge, crocheting, quilting and reading. She lived her entire life in Bennington.

She was predeceased by her husband, William F.D. Smith in 1979 and her daughter, Wilhelmina (Billie) Smith in 2021. She is survived by her daughters, Ann Smith of Bennington and Catherine (Jeff) Bergquist of Rutland, Vermont. She is also survived by grandchildren Kyle Bergquist (Amy) of Hartford, CT and Allison Bergquist of Boise, ID. Florence had one great grandchild, Ellen Bergquist of Hartford, CT.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Baptist Church in Bennington on Wednesday January 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery. There will be a light luncheon following the service at the First Baptist Church.

Carmack, Mississippi – Mary N Gilbert, 95, of the Carmack community, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the Attala County Nursing Center in Kosciusko. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko, and from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Hebron Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm. Sunday at the church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Leach will officiate the services.

Mrs. Gilbert was born in Cleveland, Mississippi on September 24, 1927, she was a retired merchant and cattle farmer. She was also the owner of Blue and Gold Grocery Store, and has been a member of Hebron Baptist Church since 1972.

She is survived by two sons, Tommy W. (Betty) Norrell of Brandon, MS., and Billy (Lori) Norrell of Canton, MS; sisters, Helen Linville, Vivian Mullins, and Hazel Bennett; grandchildren  Tracy Norrell Brooks, Christy Norrell, Sandy Sweet, and Amy Sipes; step-grandchildren Daniel Tuggle, Sean Pruett, Brendon Pruett, and Christian Pruett; great-grandchildren, Mason Brooks, and Sydney Sweet.

Her husband, Thomas Norrell, and son, Paul A. Norrell, preceded her in death.
