New Orleans – Paulette G Williams was a beautiful spirit whose life was a reflection of love, filled with memorable moments that brought happiness to others. With a spirit that uplifted everyone around her, she spread warmth and light wherever she went, touching the lives of everyone she met. Her memory will forever inspire us to live with grace, compassion, and joy. Paulette was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on March 17, 1941, to the late Edward Burr Williams II and Laura Stafford Williams. She attended McDonogh 35 High School and Southern University at New Orleans. She married the love of her life, Sidney Williams Jr., on December 24, 1962. Together, they were a U.S. Air Force family, with stations in Colorado Springs, CO; Alexandria, LA; Crete, Greece, and Panama City, FL. During that time, Paulette worked for Shell Oil in New Orleans, LA; Looart Press in Colorado Springs, CO; and Bell South in New Orleans, LA, before retiring in 1996 after 20 years of service. Upon her husband’s retirement from the Air Force, they settled in New Orleans, where she became a lifelong member of St. Maria Goretti Church. On the morning of November 8, 2024, Paulette entered eternal rest. She leaves to mourn her beloved husband, Sidney Williams Jr.; her children, Derrick (LaDana), Lori (Clarence), and Robert (Rebecca); and her stepchildren, Sandra Daniels (Albert) and Sidney Dunn (Yvette). She is also survived by her siblings, Edward B. Williams III (Chanel), Brenda Morrell (Raymond), Laura Messina, Alise Bamforth (John), Michael Williams, and Mary Poole (Steven); her brothers-in-law, August Williams, Kenneth Williams, and Dennis Williams; her sisters-in-law, Lois Johnson and Marion Williams; her grandchildren, Tiffany Waples, Douane Waples Jr., Alphonse Waples, Madison Williams, Cameryn Williams, and Samara Williams; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Roberta Jones and Anna Williams; and her brother, Walter Williams Sr. Paulette will be remembered for her compassionate heart, infectious laugh, and the way she made the world a brighter place simply by being in it. Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, November 23, 2024, for 11:00 a.m. at Saint Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 7300 Crowder Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70127.
