Joyce Towslee

Joyce Towslee, 82, a resident of Elm Street, Manchester, Vermont, passed away Friday morning October 28, 2016 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation.

Joyce was born in Mt. Tabor, VT on June 5, 1934 the daughter of Leonard and Pauline (Merrow) Breton and attended local schools. Joyce owned and operated Breton-Towslee Rubbish Removal for many years. She was a member of the Manchester Eagles Auxiliary and the Harned-Fowler VFW Auxiliary.

Joyce enjoyed camping, stock car racing, cooking, baking, listening to country and blue grass music, sewing and crafting. Her true passion was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her children Pauline Davison (Dennis) of South Londonderry and their children Matthew and Danielle, Thomas Towslee (Wyneta) of Manchester and their children Thomas Jr. and Chuckie, Sandra Pinsonault (Danny) of East Dorset and their children Ethan, Brian and Sarah, Chris Towslee (Lisa) and their daughter Kelsey, Lisa Hess (George) and their children Ashley and Haylee, and Mark Towslee (Cissy) and their children Jonathan and Nicole all of Manchester, thirteen great grandchildren who, with great affection, called her “Gramma Great” and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Towslee whom she married on June 23, 1949. Joyce was also preceded in death by her siblings Thomas Jerome Breton, Rose Marie Thomas and Leonard “Cooc” Breton.

Funeral services for Joyce Towslee were held Friday, November 4, 2016 at 11am at the First Baptist Church in Manchester. Interment followed in the family lot in Factory Point Cemetery. Visiting hours were held Thursday November 3, 2016 from 5-7pm at Brewster-Shea Funeral Service, 34 Park Place, Manchester Center, Vermont. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Joyce’s memory may be made to the Manchester Fire Department, c/o Brewster-Shea Funeral Service, PO Box 885, Manchester Center, VT.
