Geoffrey Brugh Braden Jr

New River, Az – Geoffrey Brugh Braden Jr. “Bam”, age 33, of Birmingham, AL passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020 in New River, AZ. Geoffrey was born in Nashville, TN to Paula Campisi Braden and Geoffrey Brugh Braden Sr. where he spent his childhood and made countless exceptional friendships that still hold strong today.

Geoffrey Brugh Braden Jr

He later moved to Birmingham, AL where his love for Alabama football flourished. Since then, he has spent many years living in New River, AZ serving at Teen Challenge of Arizona, a faith-based organization, where he worked to help teens recover from their addictions and build a new life for themselves, just as he had. In his time at Teen Challenge, Geoffrey developed a deep and personal relationship with our Lord and Savior. It is there that he also gained the nickname “Bam” and friendships that would last a lifetime.

Geoffrey lived in constant evaluation of himself, always striving to live God’s will and better himself. He loved his family and friends unconditionally.

Geoffrey is survived by his parents, sister Allison Chapman and her husband Matt, and nieces, Margaret “Maggie” (5) and Elizabeth “Libby” (2), whom he loved with his whole heart. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, and many cousins who were more like siblings.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church in the Chapel for visitation at 10:00am followed by a memorial service at 11:00am. After the service, a reception will be held at Allison Chapman’s home. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for any donations made to Teen Challenge of Arizona in Geoffrey’s name. Thank you to all of Geoffrey’s friends and loved ones for the outpouring of love, support and hope during this difficult time.

The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the Lord: “Lord, save me!” The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. The Lord protects the unwary; when I was brought low, he saved me.  Psalm 116:3-6 (NIV)
