Bennington, Vermont-Cynthia Jean Gardner, 70, of Bennington, VT, passed away at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington following a brief illness.
Cindy was born in West Hartford, CT on October 3, 1952, the daughter of the late Edward E. and Helen (Kelley) Gardner, JR.
Cindy married Donald LeRoy Carroll in June 12, 2011 after being together for almost 40 years. Donald passed away on August 30, 2013.
Cindy loved her job as a Licensed Nurses Assistant, working for various nursing homes in the area over the years. She enjoyed sewing and crafts with her sister Gayle and camping with family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and the special times with her niece Denya.
Cindy is survived by her daughter, Lana (Michael) Burke of Bennington, VT, her step-children; Richard Carroll (Diana Leazer) of Bennington, Timothy Carroll of South Carolina and Angela Griffin of Shaftsbury, VT.; her sisters, Mary (Donald) Myers of Bennington, VT, Valerie (Greg) Camp of Southampton, MA, Gayle (Kevin) Kees of Shaftsbury, VT and Kelley Gardner of Shaftsbury, VT.; her grandchildren, Brandan (Sierra) Burke of Arlington, VT, Caitlyn (Morgan) Burke-Larkin of Albany, NY, 1 great granddaughter, Raelynn Burke, 5 step grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Cindy was predeceased by her brother, Edward E. Gardner III and her step-son Michael Carroll.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 5, 2022 at 3:00 PM at the Mahar Funeral Home 628 Main Street Bennington, VT.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 pm until the time of services at 3:00.
