Ann Marie Weeks

Manchester, VT – Ann Marie Weeks (July 15, 1952-January 10, 2023). Wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend and flower gardener. Her heart was full of flowers…

It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Ann Weeks who passed away on January 10, 2023. Ann was born in Danby, VT on July 15, 1952. She is survived by her husband Bill Weeks of Manchester, VT, daughters Renee Weeks and Farrah Weeks, brothers Ken Wilkins, Gary Wilkins and wife Betty; Shawn Thomas and Timmie Thomas, sisters Vicki Dejnozka and her husband Amiel, Terri Wilkins and partner Foster Colvin. Ann loved her family and was happiest when surrounded by family. She has many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who she dearly loves. She was predeceased by her mother Rose Thomas, father Harry “Reb” Thomas and brother Scott Thomas.

Family meant the world to Ann and she was always there for them. Ann was as independent as they come and a very hard worker. She worked many years for THM as the Property Manager. She loved her work and the people she worked with. Ann retired a year and half ago and relished in her gardening which was admired by everyone who passed by her home. She was an avid home decorator and loved changing up her styles for the various seasons. Ann enjoyed the outdoors. She loved to cross country ski and hike when she was younger. Her daughter Renee adopted this passion and is now an avid mountain climber.

Her favorite adventures were traveling. She traveled extensively with family in the Caribbean, Hawaii, Mexico all over the US and just this past year lived her dream of visiting Yellowstone with her sister Vicki, Amiel, and beloved nephew Mark. Her daughter Farrah took after her in this way and loves to travel, visiting the Caribbean often. During her retirement Ann enjoyed going to Florida for a few months during the winter to unwind on the beach and see her good friends down there.

Ann loved her children and gave up so much of herself to provide the best to her daughters. She taught them to be fiercely independent which came to haunt her when neither of them married or had children in adulthood. She spoiled her daughters during the holidays. Even as adults they still received Easter baskets and many treasures at Christmas. The biggest treasure she gave them was her heart and love. She was always there for her family no matter what. She would drop what she was doing to be present. She loved deeply.

Ann and Billy have been married for 49 ½ years and were together for a couple years before that. She adored his humor and silliness. The family has so many memories of him making us laugh until tears came streaming down our faces. She loved this part of him. He was always there for her and would do anything for her. They had a love like no other even though at times they drove each other crazy. It was almost comical. It was a true love. Ann was always a pet lover. She always had a pet cat and more recently had a canine companion for her retirement, a border collie named Patty who she adored.

Ann will be so greatly missed by her family and friends. She was an amazingly special person if you were lucky enough to know her, you know what we mean.
